Best Box Pressed Cigars 2017
Box pressed cigars are becoming more and more popular. Box pressing does enhance a cigar slightly. It slows down the cigar burn rate, alters the flavor slightly to make it seem more consistent and it enhances the draw. Oh…and it also stop cigars from rolling. I personally like the look of a box pressed cigar. “It’s hip to be square”
Anyway here are my 2 picks for best box pressed cigars in 2017.
La Galera 1936 Box Pressed – La Galera wrote the book on consistency…flavor, burn, construction, aroma and smoke. 1936 is the year Tabacalera Palma opened its doors to the public. This wonderful square is handmade with a fantastic Habano Ecuadorian wrapper that is packed with boldness and flavor. The long filler is a delicious blend of Piloto Cuban and Criollo 98. Smooth and medium to full bodied. A real beauty and a great smoke. Try them.
Camacho BXP Ecuador – the perfect balance of sweetness and spice plus strength and mildness. It’s just right for many folks. The wrapper is a Ecuadorian Habano which is dark brown and very flavorful and robust. The filler is a blend of Honduran and Dominican with a nice Brazilian Mata Fina binder. These square beauties are hand rolled and then box pressed. They are simply delightful. You’ll be entertained with pepper, citrus, wood, leather and some earthiness. Box pressed cigars are typically a “cooler” smoke. Try some.
